Hi everybody

I have decided to work out a part of examination sets. Today I did only ten sets but tomorrow I`m going to do much more

. Correct all my mistakes, please. Instead of translating the long sentences I started translating specific situations - it`s much more practical

)). I start writing my posts to English because I must start thinking to this language. I know that I will be doing some mistakes :oops: but don`t be too cruel to me

2. Yesterday I was stopped by the police because of speeding. I tried to explain them that I was in a hurry because my mother got ill and wanted to take her to the hospital but they gave me a ticket.

3. I`m afraid that I can`t come to work tomorrow because me and my wife have planned visiting her parents much earlier. She will be very angry if we don`t go there. I know that John wanted to go to work on Sunday so call him. I can stay longer at work on Monday, but tomorrow I really must visit my parents-in-law.

3. Kate. I`m very tired of going shopping. Let`s buy some souvenirs in that small shop. I don’t`want to go to that large store department. There must be a big noise there but I need to have a rest right now.

3. Today I was at a very interesting lecture entitled “How to protect our environment”. People shouldn`t throw garbage away on the street; cut the forests out; build so many new factories.
We ought to respect our environment if we want to live in a health world.

2. My uncle who has been living in Ireland for almost 4 years recommended me a good job, but I can`t go there now because I must pass my last exam by the end of June. If you want you can take this job now. My uncle had to ask one Pole for an address of this Irish employer, in exchange it he had to pay 30 € so you must tell me you want this job or not.

3. Ok. Let`s visite this museum first. I think it will take us about 30 minutes. Then you will be allowed to go shopping. Do you accept my proposal (suggestion)?

1. Yesterday there was a very big anti-war demonstration – the streets of our town were crowded. I was there with my friends. We protested against the war on Iraq and foreign policy of the USA government.

2. I heard that you lived in a countryside near the mountains – is that true? What is your house looks like? Could you describe it in a few words? Can you say how many inhabitants there are in your countryside?

3. I think that smoking is very unhealthy and dangerous. Everyone who smoke cigarettes should try to give up this bad habit. I know that it`s not so easy for smokers to give up smoking at once, first they should reduce it. I don`t agree with a opinion that after giving up smoking you can put on weight. If you begin jogging, riding a bicycle or some other sport nothing wrong will happen with your health.

1. The sport which I like most of all is basketball. I have been playing basketball for more than ten years. It causes that basketball is a very unpredictable game because of that very interesting to watch and play.

2. I feel terribly pain in my knee. I collided with you in the air when we jumped to get the ball. My knee is starting to hurt me more and more. Give me your hand, please. Help me stand up.

3. Life in a town is better than life in a countryside because of many reasons. For example you can do shopping in a lot of different places. Most of them are very near from your house so you can get everything what you want in a short time. Life in a town is much more comfortable. Moreover in a countryside people are less anonymous, sometimes they know everything about each other.

1. The young people from my district have their a favourite place. They often meet each other under the bridge. This place is rather difficulty accessible. It`s very important because they like drinking some beer from time to time and the police call on this place very seldom. You can get there only on foot.

2. Waiter! I`m afraid this chicken is not fried enough. It is uncooked – check it out. In that case I`d like to have other meal. I don`t want to eat meat in this restaurant. I have change my mind – I will eat a next piece of chicken on condition that the price is the same.

3. I`d like to report a theft. My bag has been stolen. When I went down to receive it back I have found out that my bag disappeared. The taxi-driver was no too. I`m sure that man stole my bag. How could I get my bag back? There are a lot of important my things. Can you help me with it?
