Jetsem na etapie wyboru tematu pracy mgr, chcialabym pisac na temat idiomow zwiazanych z kolorami, ale problem w tym, ze nie za bradzo wiem jak sie do tego zabrac, co mozna by było zbadac, itp. Jesli macie macie jakies pomysły, wskazówki to bede wdzieczna za kazda pomoc.

I love the idea!
The most obvious and yet so very interesting, would be, I suppose, to track down the origins of your idioms. From then on you could try arranging them by type, by age, by national deriviation, by whatnot.
What does your prof say anyway?

Well, I was also thinking about doing it in this way, but my supervisor rejected this idea because it involves more of an etymological research while it should be rather strictly linguistic. Basically, what I'd like to do is to focus on idioms connected with one colour , eg. red and analyse English and Polish ones from the semantic point of view but I'm not sure if and how it is possible to do, what to concentrate on and so on. Unfortunately, my supervisor isn't much of a help, either:( Anyway, thanks for replying.
